"Attention Citizens, this is FedNet, and I'm Steven Hawks bringing you our latest update from the Arachnid Quarantine Zone. In today's segment we focus on some of the outlying planets around Klendathu, specifically the recently assaulted world of Valkyrie. This planet, near the edge of Quarantine zone was struck by Fleet forces and then assaulted by heavy complements of Mobile Infantry forces, which have pushed back the Arachnid forces into retreat after several heavy engagements. We join our in-field correspondent Frank Hale on Valkyrie, Frank:"
"Hey Steve, I'm here on Valkyrie at FOB Pearl with Mobile Infantry Rhino Squadron, a group of young rough and tumble recruits under the guidance of Career Sergeant Tivnon. Command of Fort Pearl is entrusted to long time M.I. veteran Captain Ives. The Captain is here with me to give me a summary of events around Fort Pearl up to this point, go ahead Captain...."
"Well Mr. Hale, the Citizens here have had to put up with some shit. I've sent Rhino Squad out twice now to dispose of bug holes in dangerous proximity to the base. Then some SICON Military Intel Lieutenant commandeered them for some half-baked rescue mission, need-to-know-only kind of thing. Lucky for them Blister bugs didn't wipe the team and we rescued that Fleet doll alright. The base was attacked by a branch of the most recent Arachnid offensive but we held our line. Right now we're working on extracting out of this hell pit, and Trooper McCoy has taken two other men from Rhino to secure fuel for our skimmer from nearby Fort Maple. I think I hear their MAC Hauler pulling in now..."
