...because we don't have good mail here. This place is the worst we've been stuck in. Boggy, biting bugs, muck gettin' in your boots all the time. And the enemy! Or enemies I guess. We have Skinnies, Bugs and rebels all on one shithole... er- sorry. I know you don't like it when I curse but I can't help it sometimes.

We lost Cappis last week, rebels got him in the back on patrol. I sent his tags back to his moms, I hope they get there. The Chaplain said package delivery is pretty good normally. I'd vid with you but all the communications are locked up, operations only. Even the LT isn't getting to talk home. 

I think we'll be out of this place within a month and I should get some shore leave back on Earth soon. I hope you'll be waiting for me! I miss you.
